Sexual Orientation: Straight Social Status: Single Turn Ons: Pretty, nice eyes, long hair, likes to laugh, smart Turn Offs: Dumb, bitchy, insecure, prissy, snotty Past Relationships: a few Current Relationship: --
Likes: food, reading, girls, talking, camping, The Beatles, Queen, Sweet, beer Dislikes: rude and tactless people, sharks (he almost got attacked by one on a summer trip to the ocean) Strengths: Finn is pretty smart, and it's not too difficult for him to buckle down and get something done. Weaknesses: While he's good at schoolwork, don't expect him to tutor anybody because he could barely explain his way out of a paper bag. He knows what he's doing, not how to explain it. He doesn't always get things the first time someone explains it to him, either, which makes him wonder how he was put into Ravenclaw. Quirks: Ruffles his hair when uncomfortable, rubs forehead when annoyed, slips into his accent when flustered/angry/aggravated Random: Sometimes talks in his sleep, can make his tongue into a clover, has a scar on his right shoulder
Personality: Finn is friendly and is rarely found without a smile on his face when in a social situation. He can be completely serious, though, when it comes to schoolwork, and he's very responsible. He's usually relaxed and polite (though his politeness doesn't prevent him from doing any good-natured teasing), but slightly awkward. While his friends skive off classes, Finn never will. Skiving is lazy and reprehensible, and he won't do it. Finn is talkative unless he's busy doing schoolwork, in which case he's somewhat quiet and withdrawn. While some would assume that because he takes school so seriously, that he only talks about schoolwork, they would be very wrong. Finn, in fact, rarely talks about schoolwork: he just focuses on it. His friends are more important.
He's his own biggest fan and his own worst critic at the same time. He'll jokingly brag about things, but it's almost a defense mechanism. When he has to be completely serious, though, people find out what he really thinks about himself. He doesn't think he's ugly by any means, but he's not as sure of himself as he pretends to be. Despite his calm attitude, Finn can and does get frustrated quite often. Many think he has a temper problem because of it, but he doesn't. He grew up around people cursing as often as breathing, and his mother was the one who censored him, especially when his younger sister was born. He can also lean toward the skeptical side, not always believing the first thing he hears running around the school. Finn likes proof.
Despite being a Ravenclaw, Finn can get confused easily at first. He's not the quickest of his classmates, but once he understands it, it's easy for him to grasp what to do and he gets it done. He works hard for his grades, but he also doesn't spend all his time worrying about them. Grades are just a fact of life: a necessary evil that should only stay to the background of people's minds. He sometimes feels a bit out of place because he doesn't latch on as fast as his housemates. He likes Quidditch, and joined the team in his fourth year, playing Chaser and enjoying it quite a bit. It wasn't his life, and it wasn't something he saw himself doing professionally, but it was a fun way to free himself from studying and to get his mind into gear.
History: Two muggleborns, Donald and Ciorstan Bradley had no clue what to expect for their first child. Just because magic was with them, they didn't want to assume it would be with any baby they had. As such, the two decided early on in their marriage not to use magic until their first child showed signs of it. They'd met in nursery school, becoming friends even before going to Hogwarts. By the time he was eleven, not only were they best friends and nearly inseparable, but Donald had the difficult task of telling Ciorstan he was bent sent to school in Astralia, while she was staying there. Fearing they'd never see each other again, on the morning of August 30, they gave each other tearful goodbyes. The school year passed with no contact until the beginning of summer. Ciorstan had turned eleven. The two caught up and spent as much time together as possible until August 30 again.
On the morning of September 1, as Donald boarded Hogwarts Express and searched for a compartment for the start of his second year, he thought he noticed a familiar flash of blonde hair in a compartment on its own. He backed up, interrupting the flow of traffic, and was met with the sight of his best friend, sitting alone and reading a large book. With his mouth hanging open, he pushed the door open and stepped in. Ciorstan's mouth fell open and her expression mirrored his. All he did was hurled himself on her and hugged her extremely tightly. They had the entire ride to explain things to each other, and each secretly planned on writing home to tell their parents what had happened.
They had to separate for the sorting, and Donald took his spot at the Ravenclaw table, hoping Ciorstan would follow. He suffered someme disappointment, though, when she was put in Hufflepuff, as did she. They would have classes together, but they wouldn't have after curfew to talk to each other. No longer could they be inseparable, and Ciorstan briefly wished he'd been in Australia after all. The only time they had was between classes, meals, and what other free time they didn't spend studying. The two managed to stay rather close, even after developing other friendships.
When Ciorstan got her first boyfriend in her fifth year, Donald found himself getting jealous, though he tried his hardest to hide it. Ciorstan couldn't miss it, though, when he started butting in when she was with her boyfriend. He had taken to popping up and sitting himself down next to her, and in between the two of them if it was possible, and then he would take control of the conversation. After cornering him about the situation and how angry she was about it, Donald refused to admit to having any reason for his behavior, so Ciorstan severed the ties. She ignored Donald for months until her boyfriend broke up with her at the end of the year. By then, especially after finding out the circumstances that led to her seeking him out, he did not want to talk to her.
That lasted a month into the summer, and by July, Donald had had enough. He was tired of not talking to her, and he'd admitted some things to himself that concerned how he was acting. After an unfriendly greeting in her backyard one day, Donald got to the point. He confessed to being jealous, and was slightly disheartened when all Ciorstan did was laugh. By the end of summer, though, they were dating. During her seventh year, they maintained contact through owls and saw each other on the holidays. Neither was worried about the relationship and any possibility of the other one straying. The summer after her last year, they were engaged, and the following winter they got married.
After making the decision to put off having children until the war was over, they finally had their first child in October of 1980, a bit sooner than they’d hoped as the war raged around them and the two were in hiding because of their blood status. But Finn was a happy baby: easily pleased and generally content for the most part. He had his favorite games such as ‘I’ll yell at you until you watch me,’ but he wasn’t otherwise fussy. He didn’t cry often until his teeth started coming in. Finn was a bit of a terror when he first started walking, and his favorite thing to do was push things over or off of reachable surfaces. If the Bradleys didn’t have magic, they would’ve lost quite a few possessions. By that time, Voldemort had been defeated, and everyone seemed to be safe.
Finn grew up muggle, his parents putting their wands away and only using them once their son was in bed. They knew they were both magical, but didn’t know if Finn would be since they’d been muggleborns. They decided it was better to have to tell him in the future rather than get his hopes up while he was young, so they were more than fine with their decision. He went to muggle primary school, where nothing exciting happened until he was about to turn seven. After getting into an argument with another student, outside, the boy Finn was arguing was lifted high up into the air by an invisible force and then dropped on the roof of the building. He was uninjured, but everyone was still on edge. The next day, the Bradleys pulled their son out of the school in favor of homeschooling.
It had taken a bit of explaining to tell Finn what he and his parents were, and the news was met with a bit of anger on his part. He grew to understand their reasoning, but at the time, he felt they should’ve told him regardless of what they thought would or wouldn’t happen. He spent a short period of time angry with them, until he wanted something sugary to eat. All three Bradleys were excited for the impending arrival of a Hogwarts letter three years later, but they were caught offguard by the impending arrival of something else. Finn had turned nine not many months before Ciorstan found out she was pregnant again. Husband and wife were ecstatic but worried about complications: she was a bit older and it had been a decade since she’d given birth to Finn. Muggle and wizard doctors alike both told her she should have nothing to worry about.
Isla was born before Finn had been ten for a month. Three short weeks after his birthday, Isla greeted the world with a shrill cry and screeched her way into her parents’ heats. Finn wasn’t sold, though. Though they’d celebrated his birthday with as much excitement and fervor as always, he believed the infant would steal some of his limelight. Moreover, he’d wanted a baby brother instead of a baby sister. All babies did was cry, poop, eat, sleep, and suck up attention, so Finn wasn’t thrilled in general, but a brother would’ve made it better. Needless to say, he didn’t like Isla much. Finn was glad to get out of Aberdeen when his Hogwarts letter came, and on the morning of September first of 1992, the four Bradleys took the Floo Network to London so he could board his train. He said goodbye to his mother and father, made a face at his sister, and walked on.
Immediately upon meeting Sasha Fawcett, the two hit it off. They quickly became best friends and stuck together through the events of that year, looking out for each other to make sure they didn’t share Ginny Weasley’s near-fate. Second year, it was to ensure that Sirius Black didn’t get them. After the events of their third year, the Bradley family had to decide who they believed. They chose the side of Harry Potter, not wanting to accept that Voldemort had returned, but unable to believe Fudge even though Donald worked for the Ministry. Finn didn’t talk about that decision with Sasha in case she believed the Ministry. His parents had fallen in love with her the moment they saw her when she came to their house for the first time in June of 1993. Finn and Sasha quickly found out their parents wanted them to date each other and get married to their best friend like they themselves had, but the two adolescents wanted none of it.
It seemed that as things got darker in the world, Finn and Sasha only grew closer, and their parents only grew more persistent. During his sixth year, as the war waged on around them, Finn and Sasha found out that his uncle and her aunt were dating. Before Christmas, they were engaged.
Astrology: All Ravenclaws are intellectual, but Ravenclaw Libras have their heads in the clouds more than most (Pisces Ravenclaws may have them beat, but not by much). They are romantic and idealistic, and prefer to live in the world of pure theory rather than in the messy world of action. While social and pleasant, they are still quiet and shy, and rarely make the first move when in a group of people. In the classroom, they tend to wait to be called on, or raise their hands when they are sure that no one else knows the answer, but they do tend to be the teacher's pet on a fairly regular basis. It's hard to hate them for this, because they are so pleasant to everybody. Ravenclaw Libras are the most speculative (and indecisive) of all Libras, because they have the intellectual capacity to explore all ramifications of every action and reaction.
